Control Your Anger

There are some days in our lives that are nothing but ‘’Worst’’ as there is no other better way to describe these days. So imagine having the worst day of your life.

You have overslept in the morning. You are late for school/college. You are in a bad mood because you had a fight with your ‘’Facebook’’ friend. You can’t concentrate properly and the teacher scolds you bad for this reason. Moreover, your teacher assigns you a tough assignment, which you have to hand in the next day. However, you can’t do that because you have to go out a get together with your classmates at night although you are worried inside about the teacher’s anger and the punishment you will get for not submitting the assignment.

To make matters worse, your father gets to know about your plans. So he forces you to call your classmates to inform them that you are staying at home to complete the assignment. Your classmates laugh at you for being such a ‘’Daddy’s child.’’

Now you are sitting in your room feeling so frustrated. Then your sister comes in your room and tells you to come downstairs for dinner. You are sad and miserable and instead of understanding your problem your sister laughs at you, which makes you yell at her due to which she runs out of your room crying at the top of her lungs. Your mother comes in and scolds you badly for making your sister cry. Now you feel like exploding with anger and frustration and end up hurting yourself.

So now you have a fair idea about what kind of situation I am talking about, the one that leaves you too angry and frustrated. But here are a few suggestions to keep your anger under control in such situations:

1.     Remember everything happens for a good reason even if you think this is the worst thing that has ever happened to you.
2.    If you are angry then try not to let it pout on people who care about you. It won’t give you any satisfaction; instead you will feel even worse.
3.    Talking to a close friend certainly help you to calm down.
4.    It is often seen that some people can get their emotions under control by writing journals. If you don’t want to talk to anyone then a journal is your best option. You can even write stupid things about people you dislike. It can be very helpful in the process of calming you down.
5.    Punching a pillow can help you let out all your anger. Just imagine the pillow is the thing that caused you so much trouble.

I use these tips when I am angry or frustrated and they really work.
